Artist: Sian Watson Materials: Steel, concrete, paint Artist statement: An abstract spotted quoll stands tall in its former landscape. Its long tail forms a void, symbolising the quoll's disappearance from SA over 130 years ago. About the artist: Sian Watson is an Adelaide based artist who explores the relationships between humans, animals and their shared environments. Watson captures movement and narrative in her ambiguous forms, primarily made from steel and concrete. Having completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts (First Class Honours) at ANU in 2015, her practice now spans studio-based works and public art commissions. She has exhibited work in Australia, Canada and the USA and was the recipient of the 2020 Sculpture By the Sea Clitheroe Emerging Artist Mentor Award.
