Artist: Chris Murphy, Blue Temper Ironworks Materials: Corten steel/Stainless steel/Mild steel Artist statement: My “Make a wish” Dandelion sculpture invites the viewer to think about the positive changes they would like to attract into their life, and to start moving in that direction. About the artist: Chris Murphy is an artist/blacksmith/sculptor who established Blue Temper Ironworks in 1997. Chris uses traditional blacksmithing and metalworking techniques to create a diverse range of ironwork including sculptures, furniture, gates, wall art and accessories. Taking inspiration from nature and the ocean in particular, Chris’ ironwork has an enduring, organic feel to it. The Blue Temper workshop/gallery is located at Middleton, on the south coast, and is open by appointment, to view the many sculptures and ironworks on display. Chris specialises in commissions, and enjoys working with clients to design and create ironworks that will last lifetimes.
