Video Games Made My Son Like Country Music
Best Music Nominee, Melbourne Fringe
My daddy never let me play violent video games when I was a boy. So when I finally got my hands on a PS2 copy of ‘Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’, my whole world changed. I didn’t become an ultra-violent teen like the news said I would, but I did develop a deep appreciation for country music.
Everything changed after that. I would get home from school, steal a car, turn on the radio and drive around the picturesque, yet clunky, San Andreas countryside listening to the sounds of violence: Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams and more.
Now I've got a band, and we’re gonna play the tunes that shaped our salad days. You're listening to K-Rose!
